I am a spatial designer, interested in an entry level position in retail and installation design. My aim as a designer is to use interdisciplinary learning to explore experimental design and change the manner in which people interact or associate with certain spaces. I aim to create spaces that are conversation starters and allow users to ruminate on the stories that they unfold. Born in the Middle East, I have been educated at institutions across Africa, South Asia, and Europe. I am currently pursuing a Graduate Diploma at the Royal College of Arts in London, the top ranked Arts and Design University in the QS World Rankings. My diverse learning experience has allowed me to traverse a range of cultures, ideas and styles.
I have strong oral and written communication skills. I have served as the Editor in Chief of the International School of Tanganyika Yearbook, delivered a TEDx talk at TedxYouth Upanga, and also published a poetry collection called Pieces of Home with Bookleaf publishing. I am a quick and enthusiastic learner with good interpersonal skills, which I have developed through taking up roles such as a student trustee at RCA and through my various internships and projects with Mandarin Oriental Hotel, London and Stone Town Village Limited, Zanzibar. My creative sensibilities assist me in designing spaces that aim to balance form and function.
